イリーナ メジューエワ − Pianist
ロシア出身。モスクワのグネーシン特別音楽学校とグネーシン音楽大学（現ロシア音楽アカデミー）でウラジーミル・トロップに師事。1992年ロッテルダム（オランダ）で開催された第4回エドゥアルド・フリプセ国際コンクールでの優勝後、オランダ、ドイツ、フランスなどで公演を行う。
1997年からは日本を本拠地として活動。2002年、スタインウェイ・ジャパンによる国内コンサートツアー。2003年、サンクトペテルブルク放送交響楽団と日本国内４都市で共演したほか、2005～06年にはザ・シンフォニーホール（大阪）で４回にわたるリサイタル・シリーズに出演。2006年からは毎年京都でリサイタルを開催。日本デビュー20周年を迎えた2017/18年のシーズンには東京文化会館・小ホールでシリーズ演奏会（全３回）を開催するなど、精力的な演奏活動を展開している。
これまでにロッテルダム・フィルハーモニー管弦楽団、プラハ交響楽団、ロシア・シンフォニーオーケストラ、高雄市交響楽団（台湾）、日本フィルハーモニー交響楽団、新日本フィルハーモニー交響楽団、東京交響楽団、東京都交響楽団、読売日本交響楽団、オーケストラAfiA、神奈川フィルハーモニー管弦楽団、セントラル愛知交響楽団、京都市交響楽団、日本センチュリー交響楽団、大阪交響楽団、兵庫芸術文化センター管弦楽団、テレマン室内管弦楽団、九州交響楽団、広島交響楽団、山形交響楽団などと共演。
ＣＤ録音にも精力的で、これまでに多数のアルバムをリリース。「ショパン：ノクターン全集」（若林工房）は2010年度レコードアカデミー賞（器楽曲部門）に輝く。
2006年度青山音楽賞受賞。2015年、第27回ミュージック・ペンクラブ音楽賞（クラシック部門、独奏・独唱部門）受賞。
2017年には初の著書「ピアノの名曲 聴きどころ 弾きどころ」が講談社現代新書より刊行された。
2021年4月より大阪音楽大学客員教授を務める。
Irina Mejoueva was born in Nizhny Novgorod, Russia. She started playing the piano at the age of five. Later, she studied at the Gnessin Special Music School and then at the Gnessin Institute of Music (Gnessin Russian Academy of Music) in Moscow with Prof. Vladimir Tropp. In 1992 she won first prize at the Eduard Flipse International Competition in Rotterdam. Her success led to numerous solo recitals and concerto performances with orchestras in the Netherlands, Germany and France. In 1994 she gave her first solo recital at the Grand Hall of the Moscow Conservatoire. She moved to Japan in 1997 and has performed many recitals in Japan and other Asian countries. In 2001 she gave a series of four recitals in Tokyo for the memory of the Russian composer Nikolai Medtner (1880-1951). In 2002 she gave a concert tour presented by Steinway Japan Co. In 2005 and 2006 she performed a series of four solo recitals at The Symphony Hall, Osaka, one of the most highly regarded concert halls in Japan. In 2006 Irina Mejoueva was awarded the Kyoto Aoyama Music Award, for her excellent interpretation of Schubert’s music. In 2015 she received the 27th Music Pen Club Award in Japan.
Irina Mejoueva has played with the Rotterdam Philharmonic Orchestra, Prague Symphony Orchestra, St. Petersburg Radio Symphony Orchestra, Tokyo Symphony Orchestra, Tokyo Metropolitan Symphony Orchestra, Japan Philharmonic Orchestra, New Japan Philharmonic and many more.
She has made a lot of CD recordings for various Japanese labels. In 2010 her recording of Chopin’s Nocturnes (complete) was awarded The Record Academy Prize in Japan.
Irina Mejoueva performs a broad repertoire from Baroque to 20th Century.
